Summary: | <p>Traditionally, education has been focused on answering two fundamental needs: socialize the new members of society and prepare them for the world of work, excluding the elderly, a situation that reproduces a social disengagement and the idea that they don’t have the ability to pursue these activities. The concepts of «lifelong learning» exhibit an effort to democratize knowledge, defending the right to equal opportunities for social participation compared to other age groups.
