Twenty students from the nursing graduation course, regularly enrolled in the subject of Intensive CareUnit, took part in this study. The process was developed in three different steps. First of all, extra-curricular classes were attended onnursing care systematization, emphasis on nursing diagnosis. In the second step, the adopted theoretical background was implementedin the Intensive Care Unit and as the third step, semi-structured interviews were performed. The data were analyzed through thecollective subject speech technique. The speeches evidenced changes in the perception and in the way of applying nursing care, besidespractices focused on health and human being.
