Biblical Reflections in the Arabic Lexicon (s. 58-67)
The 1857 translation of the bible left the indelible impress of American missionaries on modern Arabic. This translation was a dialogic success in a process that intended (but partly failed) to enforce a synchronization of Arab society along Western Protestant lines.
