Description
Summary:Digital devices and media have become commonplace in the hands of teachers and students alike, while it’s still seldom encountered in instructional settings in schools in Germany. Taking a closer look at the barriers and constraints of ICT use and integration while referring to preliminary results of an active research project, this papers aim is to propose an alternative way of supporting teachers and schools. Building on the principles of Design Based Research (DBR) institutes of teacher education currently have a rare opportunity to not just embrace a new methodology, but a chance to actively change the use of ICT in schools.
