Summary:This paper describes how secondary school students revise their texts, either individually or with the help of others (either peers or teachers) in the classroom context, and verifies how such revision can contribute to the teaching of writing. The present investigation shows that in both modes of collaborative revision - both with teacher and with a peer - the quality of writing and the learning situation improved, with the student writers demonstrating a capacity for reflection about language and the perception of a need for adjustment.
