In order to draw an overview of the profile of prisoners in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, the official documents used in government databases were used. The deductive method was used and investigative techniques such as indirect documentary and bibliographic research were used. The corpus that make up this paper is formed by federal and state laws, federal and state constitutions and the National Survey of penitentiary information - INFOPEN MULHERES, published in 2018. It is a qualitative research of an exploratory nature as within the scope of Human Rights and Education with an emphasis on the educational gap of women subjected to the punitive power of Mato Grosso do Sul.http://ojs.ufgd.edu.br/index.php/videre/article/view/11930sistema prisional feminino. educação. inclusão.
