Summary: | This article addresses the education of persons with deficiencies in the legislation of Spain and Brazil, focusing on the evolution/regression with respect to attention to diversity and on the progressive adoption of measures designed to adapt these realities to the social, economic and political demands of each era and context. We found parallels in terms of both legal framework and interventions between the two countries, despite their different political, economic, cultural and social structures, which is not surprising given that they are guided by principles established by the same international framework. These proximities suggest that any legal, social or academic challenges that may be encountered should be similar enough to resolve by means of collaboration and dialogue, with the goal of finding solutions to common problems.
