S8-mediated decarboxylative cyclization of 2-nitrophenols with arylacetic acid: Synthesis of benzoxazoles
A concise, metal-free protocol has been established for the preparation of 2-arylbenzoxazoles from 2-nitrophenols and arylacetic acids via a sulfur-mediated redox decarboxylative cyclization reaction.
