Summary:The objective was to research the effect of eTraining using collaborative learning as teaching technique, on the job performance employees of private companies in Mexico, to identify the components of this type of training and create a proposal for formal training processes. We used an intra-group quasi-experimental design and quantitative approach, with convenience sampling for 28 employees of management positions in food service organizations in Mexico. Nonparametric statistical analyzes for k related samples (Friedman’s test with p<0.05) show collaboration skills, and job performance improved after the experimental treatment (eTraining), and the effect size (g Hedges) was 0.89 and 0.82 respectively; the bivariate correlation analysis (r) between collaboration and job performance showed a index of 0.91 (p<0.01), a very strong positive correlation; the multivariate correlation analysis (r) for dimensions of collaboration and job performance, shows that when there is a change in positive interdependence it mainly benefits quality, meaning construction benefits effectiveness, and psychosocial relationships benefits work performance and productivity. These findings show that the implementation of eTraining in the private sector allows effective training to develop collaboration skills and to improving the job performance of managerial positions. This article shows the state of the art of eTraining and collaborative learning, collaboration skills and job performance; quantitative methodology used; components of eTraining using collaborative learning as a didactic technique; statistical analysis and discussion of results, to end with the conclusions and recommendations.
