First record of the German cockroach <em>Blattella germanica</em> Linnaeus, 1767 in Coquimbo, Coquimbo Region, Chile
This study describes the first formal record of the German cockroach in Coquimbo and La Serena, Coquimbo Region, northern Chile. Here, I also briefly discussed the sanitary implications that the occurrence of this insect could have in the Coquimbo Region.
