Summary:This paper reviews several key issues related to the use of natural aggregates for concrete production in the Malaysian construction industry. In addition, the paper discusses the potential and importance of recycled aggregates as substitutes for natural aggregates in the concrete industry. The study concludes by identifying several major obstacles in the challenge and use of recycled aggregates in concrete production, and suggests how to encourage the wider use of such aggregates in the Malaysian construction industry.
