Description
Summary:A theory suitable for the interpretation of measurements of light scattering from cladded multimode optical fibres is presented. The model used is based on geometrical optics and enables the effects of depolarization, the angular distribution of the propagating beam, as well as refraction and reflection at the core-cladding interface to be taken into account. Good agreement is obtained between the theory and experiment.
