|a Chronic pancreatitis (cP) is a destructive inflammatory condition that leads to progressive morphological and functional changes and is characterised by significant abdominal pain. When formally assessed, pain has been demonstrated to affect all aspects of patients' health-related quality of life (hrQL). it is widely acknowledged that, in a patient-centred healthcare system, treatment should not just measure the success of controlling symptoms, but also the effect on the patients' perceived wellbeing and hrQL. We review various hrQL assessment questionnaires used to assess patients with cP, how they have been used to assess the success of various treatment methods for cP, and the challenges in interpreting the information
