Description
Summary:This article, funded by the AHRC, examines the evolution of eGovernment policy in the UK, based on analysis of official documentation and from direct contact by its author with relevant officials and politicians. Its purpose is to assess progress made in paving the way for the new transformation agenda, launched in 2005. The study explores the issue in the context of the Government portal, accessible public services, public sector efficiency, local government and e-Democracy. It then evaluates the policy against related policies concerned with public sector modernisation, government information policy and EU e-Government strategy and draws conclusions.
