|a A series of novel 2,4,6-trichlorophenylhydrazines of 3,3-dimethyl-2,6-diphenyl-4-(-2-(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)hydrazono)piperidines were synthesized and characterized by IR, Mass,1H NMR,13C NMR,1H–1H COSY and1H–13C COSY spectra. Newly synthesized compound Antimicrobial study revealed that compounds (6-9) exhibited excellent in vitro antibacterial activity against S. aureus and B. subtilis antifungal activity against C. albi-cans, C. tropicalis, A. niger and A. flavus. Molecular docking studies indicated that the synthesized compounds 6-9 possessed appreciable binding energy values against PDB ID: 3LD6 protein. It was more attractive to speculate that the result of the antimicrobial activities varied with the nature of the substituent on the 2,4,6-trichlorophenyl hydra-zine at the C-4 position. © 2021, Rasayan Journal of Chemistry, c/o Dr. Pratima Sharma.
