Summary: | This dissertation tracks the discourses of prospects for the reunification of Cyprus, with a particular focus on their constructions and meanings as shaped by Cypriots’ understanding and use of space in everyday life. The variety of spatial constructions of these reunification possibilities were identified through in-depth interviews with Cypriots from both communities. I argue that Cypriots’ diverse experiences of space enable and constrain Cypriots’ capacity to articulate a vision of shared space of balanced and harmonious interpersonal, social and inter-communal relationships. |
