Summary:This thesis reports an investigation of the relationship between the meteorological variables of barometric pressure, humidity, precipitation, temperature, wind velocity, and wind direction and the sleep characteristics of reported latency of sleep upon retiring for the evening, reported number of awakenings during the sleep period, reported latency of return to sleep following an awakening; reported number of dreams during the sleep period, reported frequency of sound as opposed to light sleep, and reported latency of feeling awake and alert following the sleep cycle.
