Summary:The thesis is a summary of the analysis and characterisation of alternative theater with preference of visual metaphor in the context of the diploma presentation, entitled Mandl, which premiere took place on 25 July 2010, at the Theatre Inspiration. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The first of these is divided into 15 chapters pursuing various forms of metaphorical expression in theater and art in general, in the context of the theory of scénologie and what concerns an alternative approach to creative work. The main topics of the work refers to the theoretical and practical solutions of set design author?s performances viewed from the perspective of the set designer and in the wider theatrological and artistic discourse. There is also a director's statement, because her opinions views are valuable attachment to this work. The second part includes documentation in the form of photography from the first night and the rehearsals, it includes also the proposals with the various stages of stage design. Mandl is a Czech-Polish cooperation work and from the beginning to the end as an authory productions .
