This work is focused on the viola works of Darius Milhaud. The premise of this work was to find out, why are his viola works so rarely played. Second chapter summarizes his life and work, third chapter is concerned in more detail with his viola works and introduces all of these compositions. Fourth chapter is about First viola concerto and concludes detailed analysis of this work. Fifth chapter concentrates on Quatre Visages, its analysis and then compares two different expressions. Finally follows out closing summary of the achieved pieces of knowledge.
