Summary: | This diploma thesis describes and compares systems of the public support of audiovisual industry in selected countries. The state support in Hungary, Poland and Slovakia is analyzed more in detail. Public institutions and laws on which the support of cinematography is based in the Czech Republic are described more in brief due to their common knowledge. More precise picture about the present situation in the Czech Republic appears from the comparison of the other countries? systems. The main interest is focused on the state support. The role of European support institutions, the fund Eurimages and the program of European Union MEDIA, is also mentioned as well as the importance of TV producers and other institutions which are significant in each country. On the basis of this comparison and definition of individual systems? advantages, the theoretically optimal model of public support of cinematography is devised for the Czech Republic.
