Description
Summary:A) Practical part. A series of ten figural painting which I named The Rhythms of Life. The paintings were made using "a la prima" technique with acrylic paint on MDF boards. Furthmore, I present sketches which preceded the work. The figural cycle is, motif-wise, aimed towards a poetic transcription of experiencing the human body. I use it as a means of self-expression and self-reflection at the background of the hidden scheme of all being. B) Theoretical part. I comment on my own work in connection with August Rodin's works. In descriptions of his works I concentrate exclusively on sculptures which I feel related to with regards to my own artistic efforts. I'm trying to uncover the aspects of my work that are somehow marked with his legacy. Thus I find Rodin's work as ever-living, able to address the contemporary generation in a creative way.
