Aj: The main topic of the thesis is the analysis of the relationship between the beautiful-style paintings of Bohemian origin and the paintings of South Tyrol around 1400. The text is divided into eight main chapters. After the introduction of theme, follows a chapter devoted to the state of research. Next chapter introduces a political history of the area and its relationship with the Lands of the Bohemian Crown. The other three chapters are dedicated to mural paintings. The first one deals with the work of Master Wenceslas, "Watzlab Kunstl von Behm", as he is called in written sources. This painter was very likely trained in Bohemia during the 70s of the 14th century. Second one is devoted to the so-called Bolzano school of painting, characterized by the distinctive synthesis of Italian Trecento painting with some Beautiful-style motivs. The third part deals with the murals of so-called Brixen School (painters from Bruneck), which included the most significant South Tyrolean painter Johannes of Bruneck, as well as a number of painters trained in Central Europe. Next chapter is dedicated to the panel paintings relevant to the topic. In the summary there are recapitulated the most important findings of the thesis and they are engaged in the wider context.
