Summary: | One of the conditions of the quality of human life is work, especially those paid. However, due to the reproduction of society, mothers / parents are (mostly) excluded from the labor market, and their return is not a simple process. Several factors are involved in the exclusion of mothers from the labor market. These factors include: labor market segregation, gender pay gap, a pro-family policy of the state and low capacity of nursery schools or kindergartens. There are a lot of workers at the labor market, and employers can choose them instead of women/mothers who need to coordinate their labor activity with the demands and needs of their children. Qualitative research conducted for this diploma work has been focused on women / mothers and on several themes which are related with motherhood and parenthood very closely. These themes are: the reproduction of gender stereotypes in families, gender pay gap and the experience of women / mothers who tried to return back to the labor market. The performed research has found out the fact that some employers violate not only the Anti-Discrimination Act but in some cases also the Labor Code. This experience can be also useful for other parents / mothers as a guide how to deal with their employers and what they should not tolerate.
