Description
Summary:The main aim of the present study was to compare two types of skating - in-line skating and ice skating. An experiment method was used to evaluate an impact of in-line skating lessons on ice-skating skills in 12 and 13 years old children. We tried to find out which skills were transferable and which were not. The secondary aim was to suggest teaching methods of both above mentioned types of skating, point out uniquenesses of in-line skating, and apply them to improve the ice skating skills. The study offers also a historical insight into both types of skating, development of skates and their construction according to their contemporary requirements. It surveys places in Prague, that are convenient for in-line skating.
