| Summary: | The task of this thesis is to describe the stage of reconciliation as a condition of peaceul dying. I try to outline the importance of telling the truth to the patient in the context of this stage and the way in which family members and other helpers can strengthen the reconciliation. The theoretical part is based mainly on specialist publications by both world and national authors. Partly some internet sources were used. The work contains a brief outline of topics concerning death and dying. It also deals with the stages of accepting a serious disease. The work contains case studies, interview with an accompanying family member and interviews with staff members of hospice Chrudim. Death and dying are integral parts of our lives therefore it is necessary to increase the awareness of this phenomenon and help to overcome this taboo. |
