The aim of this thesis is to find out how they meet the needs of the users and current foreign language teaching requirements, the extent to which they take the native language of the students into consideration and how they deal with issues that are problematic for Italians. It lists the typical mistakes made by Italians in Czech and gives methodical recommendations for teachers based on their analysis and contrastive comparison of Czech and Italian. On the basis of this research the imperfections of the textbooks in question are exposed and the solutions to these imperfections are suggested.
