| Summary: | Based on chosen publications of Bohumil Hrabal, this thesis attempts to theoretically and interpretively define "palavering" (as a strategy of narration) and a "palaverer" (as a specific kind of narrator). This is related to the characteristics of Hrabal's narration strategy and his description of the world, and as well to the study of his motives and prose subject matters. The diploma paper follows style changes in Hrabal's work and at the same time observes its constants. In its conclusion, this thesis attempts to outline Hrabal's relation to Ladislav Klima and to demonstrate the legacy of this writer in the work of Bohumil Hrabal. |
