| Summary: | The diploma thesis "MISA Yoga School and the States of Enlightenment" deals with the historical background and some aspects of spiritual teachings of MISA school established in 1990 in Bucharest. The first part gives a thorough overview of MISA's short history and proposes its division into consecutive periods. The crucial role of the founder and spiritual head, Gregorian Bivolaru, is assessed. In the second part, particular yogic principles characteristic for MISA are covered from both theoretical and practical perspective. The selected secondary sources and authentic experiences of yoga practitioners (including the author himself) are referred to. The work comprises four chapters supplemented with interviews with chosen yogis, the bibliography, the list of relevant websites and a brief English summary. The thesis has an ambition to stimulate further research in the given field.
