| Summary: | This diploma thesis is focused on the subject of participative democracy primarily in relation to the direct and representative form of democracy. It introduces theoretically anchored instruments of civic participation in local government, investigates its implementation and character of participation in Czech Republic in general using results of performed researches. These results are then compared with own survey which was executed in the town Ústí nad Labem. The main methods employed in this thesis were analysis of documents and own empirical research using structured interviews and questionnaires. One of outputs of this work is among others list of recommendations for the local government of Ústí nad Labem on how to improve using participative instruments. |
