Summary: | This work deals with binominal structure N de N in French. The goal of this work is to describe and analyse this structure and to show the different ways it can be examined. The whole work is divided into two main parts. The first part introduces the general concept of N de N structure and its variety. It describes the position of N de N structure in some important grammar books of the French language. Furthermore, it proposes a classification scheme that can be used to explain different types of the structure. The second part of the work focuses particularly on the N de N examples that could be considered as lexical units. These are studied in relation to noun phrases. After the presentation of the main theories of the noun composition, the structure is analysed from different perspectives, especially from morphological and syntactic point of view. Semantic and lexico-cognitive approach is, however, also introduced.
