Description
Summary:Diploma work is focused on the work of a contemporary Lithuanian prose writer Saulius Tomas Kondrotas (1953). His tales and novels are placed into the Lithuanian and world literary context. The impact of magic realism and surrealism is confirmed; an inspiration is found in the work of other authors as F. M. Dostojevskij or W. Faulkner. Kondrotas is appreciated for individual style and topics common for his work, such as a phenomenon of death, detailed recitation, border crossing of common life perception, colourful description. The tales and especially the structure of novels are full of not only biblical, but also pagan and mythy motives.
