Summary: | Aim: The main aim of the study was an analysis of precautions of wrong side surgery in the Czech Republic and comparison with our neighbouring countries (Germany, Slovakia, Russia). Methodics: We used an anonymous questionnaires sented into hospitals having orthopaedic clinic or orthopaedic department in the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and Russia. Than we evaluated returned questionnaires. Results: 60% of hospitals in the Czech republic has an internal standard of the pacient identification and wrong- side surgery prevention, 53% use a plastic bracelet. Praeoperative verification performs in 80% at least two members of operation team in the Czech Republic. An epizode of wrong-side surgery indicate 27% of interviewed hospistals. Half of that were faculty hospitals. 60% of czech hospitals performed some changes in wrong-side surgery prevention in last ten years. Only 20% of interviewed hospitals in Germany use a plastic bracelet. Praeoperative verification performs in 40% at least two members of operation team in Germany. 40% of hospitals in germany performed some changes in wrong-side surgery prevention in last ten years. Wrong-side surgery prevention is in the next rated parameters on the same level in the Czech republic and in Germany. We couldn't evaluate and compare results from Slovakia and Russia... |
