Description
Summary:The thesis "The development and role of right-wing parties in Denmark" examines the role of right-wing parties in Denmark from their establishment to the present day. The key area of interest is the period after 1953. The first two parts of this paper are an introduction into the topic and serve for better orientation. Their purpose is to specify the examined issue. The first chapter deals with the term "right-wing", which is crucial for the whole paper. The Danish political system and its various segments, that directly or indirectly have their impact on the party system is analysed in the second chapter. The main part is divided into three chapters, of which the first deals with key events between the years 1953 and 1973. The development until 2001 is part of the second chapter and from then until the present day of the third chapter. A comparison of the role of right-wing parties in Norway and Sweden is also a part of this thesis. The conclusion summarizes the main findings, answers on questions from the introduction and evaluates the present position of right-wing parties in Denmark.
