Summary:In this work I review theories of religion inspired by cognitive revolution and based on domain specific approach to the human mind, namely theories of superhuman agency, epidemiology of representations, modes of religiosity, ritual competence and minimal counter-intuitiveness, which altogether form so called cognitive paradigm in the study of religion. I also try to evaluate significance of these theories in context of discussion about methodology and theory of religion science, focussing on classical phenomenological and semiological approaches.
