Description
Summary:My study is about shape spectrum of the pottery found at the settlement in Pasohlávky (late region of Břeclav). It is a germanic settlement, dating to a Roman period (-10 B.C. - 400 A.D.), situated in south Moravia. The purpose of this study is to identify shapes of pot shards discovered in the settlement structures such as cottages and settlement pits. In the analytical part I compare the shapes of vessels and a ratio of shards of pots, dishes, terins, stored-food vessels and other shapes. I also attempt to establish the number of vessels in the settlement. In the last part I describe the function of the vessels and their significant value in common life of germanic families.
