Summary:The thesis is aimed at the issue of socio-educational streetwork in Roma Community. As the title of the thesis shows, the streetwork in Roma community is perceived first of all through social pedagogy and social work. The objective of the paper is to seek aspects of socio-educational relief in the filed targeted at the members of Roma community in area of social pedagogy and social work. The paper describes the beginnings of social and educational street work in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, specificities of Roma, different approaches in the work with children and adults, principles and applications of community planning and community based approach in everyday work with Roma community in the filed. The paper identifies the social streetworker (working in Roma socially excluded localities), pedagogical assistant, social assistant, curator for children and youth, coordinator of community education, and regional coordinator of community planning of social services to be crucial actors in social and educational streetwork. The thesis brings the definition of basic terms in respective area: integration, majority, majority society, socio-cultural handicap, disadvantaging socio-cultural environment, social exclusion, social inclusion, community planning of social services and community school.
