| Summary: | The dissertation is focused on comparison of Josef´s stories. The starting-point of the dissertation will be the chapters from the Old Testament Book of Genesis dealing with Josef´s fate. As the background of this text will be interpreted the medieval apocryphal short stories Josef´s Life and Aseneth whose analysis will be the heart of the matter of the dissertation. It might be taken into consideration of the Josef´s story in Koran and the Josef and his Brothers novel written by Thomas Mann. Selected texts will be interpreted according to the time of its origin and the cultural background of the era.The emphasis will be put on the place of apocrypha in the Old Testament literature and the literature of Karel´s era. The relations of the Old Testament and Koran will also be discussed. |
