Approved for public release, distribution unlimited === MBA Professional Report === Approved for public release, distribution unlimited === There are six support programs provided to the Salinas, California K-12 School System under the Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative. The goal of this project is to develop quantitative estimates of the cost and the corresponding cost avoidance associated with element one - Safe Schools Environment. The Safe Schools Environment element consisted of two programs: Probation Officer and School Resource Officer. A cost avoidance analysis was conducted in order to assist the Safe Schools/Healthy Student Director in evaluation of the programs effectiveness and provide a foundation to pursue further federal funding. This project revealed that these two programs were cost effective and provided a positive impact to the Salinas community. Moreover, this project provided data that these two programs provided a significant return on investment for the taxpayer and warrant continued federal funding.
