| Summary: | MBA Professional Report === Approved for public release, distribution unlimited === The purpose of this MBA Project is to investigate and provide a comprehensive assessment for standardizing the ammunition distribution system used by the United States Navy. This project was conducted with the sponsorship and assistance of the Naval Supply Systems Command Global Logistics Support. The goal of this project was to identify and document both the push and pull methods of supply chain distribution and then recommend one of these methods, or possibly a hybrid of the two, to Naval Supply Systems Command for potential implementation. Analysis was performed on requisition information from the eight major Naval Weapons Stations to end users (those ordering particular types of ammunition) in an effort to determine which potential method would have the greatest economic impact for cost savings. |
