Summary: | The Human-Systems Interaction Course taught at the Naval Postgraduate School is an introduction to the human-systems interface, that part of the system which the human uses to provide input to and receive feedback from the system. This thesis will provide a basic introduction to those factors which must be considered when designing today's complex military systems. Additionally, the thesis will provide an introduction to the Internet - - a worldwide network of computers and smaller networks. Students will use the Internet to gather information, access remote programs, and communicate with other personnel around the world. This thesis in only an introduction to both of these complex topics; further research is possible into any of the topics discussed. Appendix A provides a number of basic exercises intended to introduce the concepts discussed in the body of the thesis.
