Description
Summary:We derive the closed form expression for the probability of bit error in direct detection, dense wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) fiber optic systems employing 00K as the modulation technique and single- cavity Fabry-Perot (FP) filters in the receiver as demultiplexers. The expression is derived in the time domain using the impulse response of the single-cavity Fabry-Perot filter and the complex baseband equivalent of the received dense WDM optical signal. The two are convolved to produce the FP filtered output signal
