Summary:This paper describes the reasoning used in the development of a low cost television receiver. The work on which this paper is based was done during January, February and March 1948 in the electronics laboratory of the Postgraduate School of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. The work was done to give the writer experience in practical circuit design problems of the type in which conservation of materials and manpower is of importance. The writer wishes to express his gratitude to Professor P.E.Cooper of the Postgraduate School for his guidance and assistance in the development and testing of the circuits described in this paper.
