Description
Summary:This thesis describes the theory, design, construction, and testing of a switching power amplifier. The major emphasis of the research and development effort reported herein is to design and construct an efficient power amplifier for varying load conditions which provides 40 Watts of power, at 85% efficiency, and with no more than 10% harmonic distortion. The power amplifier will need one voltage supply and one input audio signal. The amplifier will be used to power demonstration thermoacoustic refrigerators and the Hofler third generation thermoacoustic refrigerator, TAR3.
