| Summary: | This study was performed during the period February through
May 1953 in the Materials Testing Laboratory of the U. S, Naval
Postgraduate School, Monterey, California, The work was undertaken
in an effort to test a means of predicting cumulative
fatigue life for machine parts subjected to varying loads.
The author wishes to acknowledge the helpful suggestions
