Description
Summary:Approved for public release; distribution unlimited === A one-eighth scale turbojet test cell was used to investigate the effects of various design parameters on augmentor performance. The augmentor inlet design, nozzle-to-augmentor spacing, engine flow rate, nozzle total temperature and pressure, and augmentor tube diameter were varied to determine what effect they had on augmentation ratio, total air pumped through the system, and pressure, temperature, and velocity distributions within the augmentor tube. In addition, two augmentor tubes were combined in tandem to investigate the characteristics of a tertiary augmentor configuration.
