The research design followed a descriptive qualitative method. A case study research methodology that included interviews and qualitative questionnaires was applied for NPO members and NDA employees. Literature review explored applicable legislation, components of community development training and facets of community development. Furthermore, the NDA’s capacity building framework was examined. Major findings revealed that (a) the NDA Civil Society Organisations Development Framework must be aligned with the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa as it is infringing on human rights; (b) Capacity Building training cannot be a one size fits all approach; (c) the use of mother tongue is important for community development training. 2020-01-20T09:15:59Z 2020-01-20T09:15:59Z 2019 Dissertation http://hdl.handle.net/10500/26244 en application/pdf
