An intensive research of the literature has given rise to a conceptualisation that consists of the following five aspects, namely : values; rules; human relationships; management of classroom behaviour; and teaching practices. This research essay focuses on classroom management behaviour as an aspect of order and discipline : implication for the management of teacher competence.
