However, little is known about the effect of HIV-infection on function and phenotype of T cell responses to mycobacterial antigens in children. This study compares both CD4 and CD8 T cell cytokine expression and memory phenotype in children, following in vitro stimulation with mycobacterial antigens, also contained in novel anti-TB vaccines that are currently undergoing clinical trials.
