Description
Summary:This study investigated the management of training at the First National Bank, Card Division in Johannesburg. The purpose was to establish the employees' perception towards the management of training in First National Bank, Card Division. The methodology used in the study was a survey. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire. The target population consisted of employees in the First National Bank Card Division in Johannesburg. Sixty copies of the questionnaire were administered to sixty respondents. Fifty eight copies were returned and usable. The findings of the study revealed that the majority of respondents were not satisfied with the management of training at First National Bank Card Division. In addition, the majority stated that training needs to be addressed at strategic level. Most respondents also stated that training needed to be more systematic and focused than it currently was. The researcher therefore recognised that the management of training at First National Bank Card Division requires commitment from executive level. The researcher further made recommendations, which included the establishment of a training department within First National Bank Card Division that is comprised of training specialists. It is also highly recommended that in order to realise a return on investment from training that all training interventions be informed by the performance expectations discussed and agreed upon by both the manager and the team member. In addition all training interventions must be derived from the results from the training Needs Analysis . === (MBA) North-West University, Mafikeng campus, [2005
