The lack of metered control by the government will result in groundwater becoming nonexistent. There will be no water for drinking, plants or animals. A lot of farmers grow alfalfa and the government allows them to export alfalfa out of the country. Alfalfa uses most of the water resources. An important issue is the lack of knowledge and carelessness by the government, which indicates that the government is not holding itself accountable for the depletion of groundwater. Also, there are some farmers who have power to create lakes on their land using the groundwater.
